Training Division

The goal of the Training Division is to provide training programs and opportunities that will enhance the efficiency of South Shore firefighters. The Training Division continues to prepare all our personnel to function safely and efficiently at emergency incident scenes. We strive to deliver the highest possible level of service to our customers while ensuring that every one of our personnel returns safely to their families at the end of their shift.

The Village aims to provide the most up-to-date training techniques in order to retain a proactive approach to firefighting. The Fire Department conducts training continuously throughout the year. Training time is rotated among the various services provided by our organization: emergency medical services, fire suppression, vehicle extrication, and technical rescue topics such as confined space rescue and rope rescue. Additional training time is also spent on topics such as vehicle operation, officer development, and new building familiarization. The Training Division also oversees recruit training for all new personnel joining our organization.
