Playground Program

Mount Pleasant’s Playground Program offers safe and active learning opportunities that promote teamwork, friendship, and fun. Through individual successes and group challenges, participants develop a strong sense of self-confidence while creating memories that can last a lifetime. The programs are overseen by trained staff who emphasize learning through play.

The program is open from June 15 to July 31, 2026, on Mondays through Thursdays. It is open to children aged 4 through 13. Participants must be fully potty trained and at least age 4 by August 31, 2026.

Registration

Online registration for the 2026 Playground Program begins on February 16 and continues until June 8, or until sites are at capacity. In-person registration is available on Saturday, March 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreation building located at 7330 Old Spring Street. Cash or check only for in person payment.

Park Options

Registered Playgrounds: No exceptions for age limits. Programs will have minimum and maximum registrations. A minimum of 20 registrants is required in order for that program to run. Programs have a limited number of participants. Registrations are on a first come first served basis.  

Fee for the entire summer:  

  • $109 for residents of the Village of Mount Pleasant
  • $129 for non-residents of the Village of Mount Pleasant

Stewart McBride: Monday - Thursday

  • Morning Session: 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for ages 4 to 8

Drozd Park: There will be no 2026 Playground Program at Drozd Park

The Playground Program will return to Drozd Park in 2027 after completion of park renovations. More sessions will be offered at Smolenski Park in 2026 to accommodate. 

Smolenski Park: Monday - Thursday 

  • Morning Sessions: 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in two groups, one for ages 4 to 8, and one for ages 8 to 13
  • Afternoon Sessions: 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in two groups, one for ages 4 to 8, and one for ages 8 to 13

Campus Park: Monday - Thursday

  • Morning Sessions: 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in two groups, one for ages 4 to 8, and one for ages 8 to 13
  • Afternoon Sessions: 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in two groups, one for ages 4 to 8, and one for ages 8 to 13

Polzin Park: Monday-Thursday (Drop-in)

No registration is required for the playground program at Polzin Park. 
Fee: None

  • Afternoon Session: 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for ages 6 to 12

Cancellations

All cancellations will be posted under News Flash on the website's main page and on the Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

Please note: Parents will be contacted by their child’s park leaders by 8:00 a.m. (for the morning session) or 12:00 p.m. (for the afternoon session) if the program is canceled for that day.
