Current Opportunities

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is accepting applications for new Police Officers as part of its ongoing recruitment effort. Salary Range:  $67,356 - $91,003

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 20.5 years old
  • Must have the ability to work overtime
  • Must have a High School Diploma and at least sixty college credits or an Associate's Degree

  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position
  • Ability to possess a firearm
  • Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Driver's license required
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • No domestic abuse convictions
  • No felony convictions
  • Ability to react quickly and effectively to stressful situations
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
