Become a Poll Worker

The Village Clerk’s Office is always accepting applications from citizens who want to be part of the election process. Polls are open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm on Election Day. It is preferred to schedule full shifts; however, a limited number of split shifts are available. Submit a Poll Worker Application

Responsibilities of a Poll Worker

  • Assigning Voter Numbers
  • Assisting Voters & Providing Instructions
  • Greeter
  • Issuing Ballots
  • Monitoring Voter Equipment
  • Signing Election Paperwork
  • Voter Registration

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language
  • May not be a candidate for any office to be voted on at an election at which they serve
  • Must be a qualified elector of Racine County
  • Available to fulfill a two-year commitment

Training Requirements

The Village Clerk's Office provides training opportunities throughout the year. Trainings vary from basic duties to more detailed training. All Chief Election Inspectors are required to complete at least six hours of approved election training every two years to maintain their certification.
