Investigations Unit

The Mount Pleasant Detective Bureau consists of five detectives, a supervisor, an electronic storage detection K9, and a temporary patrol officer. This temporary position allows officers to gain valuable experience with investigations and affords various training and field experiences. 

The primary function of the Detective Bureau is to conduct follow-up investigations of reported criminal activities in the Village of Mount Pleasant. Our detectives are cross-trained in multiple areas of investigation.  They have received several different trainings, including, but not limited to, warrants, interviewing and interrogation, financial and computer crimes, sexual assault investigation, child neglect or abuse investigation, child exploitation, death investigation, arson, and crime scene processing and evidence collection.

The detectives work diligently to combat and reduce crime by conducting prompt and professional investigations. The Detective Bureau strives for professional excellence, dedication to duty, and the delivery of quality service to the public.

The detectives work an 8-hour day Monday through Friday and follow an on-call schedule to cover nights, weekends, and holidays.
