Overview
Mount Pleasant officials created this first TID in 2006 to encourage mixed-use development of nearly 500 acres on both sides of Highway 20 near Interstate 94. The site was largely farmland at the time the TID was created with the intent of generating property value and attracting jobs. Since that time, the district has helped finance new infrastructure and incentivize private companies to invest into new industrial buildings, offices, stores and a hospital.
Creation and Closing
The TID was approved in September 2006 and, according to state statutes, can remain open until 2033, at the latest.
